Health Magazine (health.com) is an AOL/Time Warner Publication. They were having difficulty achieving high search engine rankings due to site design considerations. They also lacked IT staff to implement changes Spindustry recommended to attain better rankings.

Challenge

In order to quickly achieve high search engine rankings for relevant keywords, Spindustry recommended enrolling Health Magazine in a keyword management program using pay-for-placement programs at Overture and Google.

Solutions

Working with Health Magazine, Spindustry selected keywords relevant to Health’s site content and bid on them in the two search engine programs. In the first month, this program was responsible for referring over 2600 visitors to the Health Magazine site which resulted in almost 1300 new subscriptions to the magazine. Health Magazine was delighted!

Results

Not only did the program generate direct traffic, but it also created a “domino effect” of great publicity and heightened their brand-awareness. The site was named Yahoo’s Site of the Day and recognized as a Hot Site by USA Today, both of which can be attributed to the keyword management program.
