Business Problem
Kuder, Inc. is the leading provider of Internet-based tools and resources that help students and adults achieve their educational and career planning goals. The Kuder Career Planning System has become the solution of choice for individuals around the world when it comes to identifying their interests, exploring their options, and planning for career success. Kuder has chosen Spinduastry as its strategic partner to design and introduce the “first-of- its-kind” evaluation tool for Elementary students. Kuder looked to Spindustry to understand the nuances and desires of each age group in the elementary school to maximize the success of the new brand and product. Additionally, Spindustry’s role includes strategic work in repositioning and structurally organizing other existing products.
Goals
The overall scope of the project was to define the product based on an initial set of business rules and goals set forth by the Kuder development and research team. The strategic work done on in this project has led to an evaluation of Kuder’s overall assessment infrastructure – where Spindustry has been able to help Kuder imagine the long-term goal and vision for the integration of a variety of assessment products geared to different educational life phases.
Approach
Spindustry conducted thorough user research to understand the nuances of the various mindsets and desires of elementary age level children. This process was crucial to ensure the design and visual application of the site predicts would be engaging and metaphoric through the different stages of the elementary child’s life.
Solution
- A yearly evolving product that introduces a charter each year ties to an overall program and thematic approach.
- Product keystones were developed that serve as framework for the interface and create consistency in user experience as grade-level look changes.
- Ability for reporting features for Parent and teacher to gauge child’s progress and interests through an ever-evolving process
